AACo warns hit from major Queensland flooding ‘likely to be material’

The country’s largest pastoral company says widespread flooding sweeping across the north of Queensland will mean a significant hit to its profits as it evaluates the damage to about 55,000 head of cattle.

The Australian Agricultural Company, which is backed by British businessman Joe Lewis and the billionaire Forrest family, told investors on Monday that four of its properties in the Gulf region had been badly affected by heavy rain and flooding.
