ABC staff vote to strike as Hugh Marks calls on Fair Work to intervene

Staff at the ABC have voted to go on strike for the first time in 20 years after rejecting a last-ditch $1000 cash sweetener from managing director Hugh Marks.

Hundreds of the public broadcaster’s employees intend to walk off the job at 11am on Wednesday as part of protected industrial action. It would be the first time ABC staff have gone on strike since 2006.
