ACCC pushes Labor on powers to go after Apple, Google app stores

The competition watchdog has urged the Albanese government to get on with passing laws that would empower it to force Apple and Google to allow third-party app stores on their devices, as well as accept payments from outside their systems.

The country’s biggest banks have backed the call, saying it would create a level playing field for app developers and consumers.
