Antony Catalano faces an uphill battle to maintain control of his regional media empire, Australian Community Media, after his staff passed a vote of no confidence in him following allegations he violently assaulted a woman in a Melbourne apartment last week.
Catalano appeared before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday evening charged with assaulting a woman, false imprisonment and making threats to kill. The allegations included that the 59-year-old dragged the woman through an apartment, broke her tailbone and swung a clothes iron at her head.
