ASX’s nickel stocks get sugar hit from Indonesia’s output curb

Australia’s few remaining nickel producers got a sugar hit on Thursday after regulators told the world’s largest mine in Indonesia to slash output as the country looks to correct a supply glut in the market.

Nickel rallied in London after indonesian authorities slashed the ore production quota for the PTPT Weda Bay Nickel mine to just 12 million tonnes in 2026 from 42 million tonnes last year.
