BlueScope cops stinging attack from Korean partner over dumping probe

BlueScope Steel chief executive Tania Archibald insists there is no ill will within the consortium lining up a potential bid for the Whyalla steelworks, after partner POSCO delivered a scathing attack on the Australian steel maker for seeking tariff protection in its home market.

In a submission to the anti-dumping commission, the South Korean steel giant criticised BlueScope’s “lackadaisical” conduct that led to an investigation into the market for flat-rolled steel products, despite it having “price leadership and market control”.
