PM urged to apply key COVID lesson to manage fuel crisis

Business and industry have beseeched the federal government to take charge of the response to the fuel crisis and avoid a repeat of the pandemic when the states went their separate ways, resulting in needless additional hardship and confusion.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said while his government was working closely with the states to address fuel shortages, which could include the need to introduce rationing should the crisis not abate, he left it to each jurisdiction to manage its own response.
