China’s 6G technology a ‘significant national security risk’

China’s ambassador to Australia says emerging 6G technology is one of several potential areas that could be part of its “practical co-operation” with Australia, flowing from its 15th Five-Year Plan.

But a leading cybersecurity strategist has warned that Australia must not be seduced by the promises of advancements in 6G and quantum computing technology promised by China, saying control of technology invites “extraordinary and irreversible national security risks”.
