When the Victorian gambling regulator declared Crown Resorts was once again fit to hold a casino licence in March 2024, it was touted as a turning point in Blackstone’s ownership.
A royal commission had found just two years earlier that Crown enabled money laundering, had links with criminal gangs and failed to pay enough tax. Everything else should be easy compared to getting regulatory sign-off after that!
