Home price growth flattens as buyers diminish, sellers rush market

Auction clearance rates have softened to the weakest levels this year following Tuesday’s interest rate rise, as buyers become cautious while sellers rush to offload their properties, causing flat price growth in major capitals.

The national preliminary clearance rate came to 62.7 per cent, on par with the December low point recorded at the end of last season, with every capital recording a decline from the week prior according to Cotality’s results.
