ARN Media is poised to tear up its ill-fated $100 million contract with controversial shock jock Kyle Sandilands, freeing itself from a show that had become a commercial liability but setting the stage for an epic legal clash over whether its decision was justified.
Negotiations between Sandilands and ARN, a media company that owns the Kiis and Pure Gold radio networks, were ongoing on Tuesday evening, but sources with knowledge of the legal discussions, who were not permitted to speak publicly, said there was no clear solution to what had become a very heated public stand-off.
