‘Quite alarmed’: The study that might change your mind about medicinal cannabis

The largest ever review of medical cannabis trials has found no evidence it helps with anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder, despite an explosion in the number of prescriptions being written each year to treat the conditions in Australia.

Lead author Dr Jack Wilson, of the University of Sydney, said the use of cannabis, which was often sold in Australia with high concentrations of the psychoactive ingredient THC, could cause more harm than good, including a greater risk of psychotic symptoms and addiction.
