Luxury apartment prices jump by $125,000 as war sends build costs soaring

The Iran conflict has added $125,000 to the price of a new luxury apartment as the cost of diesel and building materials such as PVC pipes and cement soar to new heights, Brisbane developer Don O’Rorke says.

O’Rorke put the impact of rising costs from the US- and Israel-led conflict at between 3 and 5 per cent, meaning up to $125,000 more has been added to the starting price of three-bedroom luxury apartments he’s developing in Yeerongpilly on the edge of the Brisbane River.
