Lynas Rare Earths has signed a long-term supply deal with its Japanese trading partner that includes a minimum price, in a landmark agreement that builds on efforts by Western governments to loosen China’s stranglehold over the sought-after elements.
Japan Australia Rare Earths will buy at least 5000 tonnes of neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr) from the West Australian miner annually until 2038, with a floor price of $US110 ($154) a kilogram.
