‘Surprised they said no’: Trump urges Australia to help in Iran

Washington | US President Donald Trump is urging the Albanese government to take a bigger role in the Middle East conflict amid his growing disappointment that allies are not stepping up to help solve the energy crisis his war in Iran has created.

Trump expressed disappointment that Australia, like many other allies, had ruled out sending troops to the Middle East or warships to the region, which has been embroiled in fighting for the past three weeks, leading to more than 2000 deaths so far.
