Political pet projects become a balancing act

Infrastructure Australia’s priority list of projects promises an independent assessment of merit but contains plenty of politics with a capital P.

But, as chief commissioner of Infrastructure Australia, he has to weigh federal and state government views with what infrastructure projects are considered national priorities by an independent agency. That translates into politics with a capital P, no matter how politely phrased.
