Push to make 38-week golden parachute standard in NSW public service

A union says it will push for all public servants in NSW to be eligible for nearly nine months’ severance pay if the Minns government refuses to slash the “golden parachute” provision for top bosses.

The Public Service Association’s threat represents an escalation of tension between unions and the Labor government, which is struggling to rein in a public-sector-wages blowout since it came to power in 2023.
