Qantas lifts fares as bookings surge, finds more planes to Europe

Qantas is increasing its airfares in response to the surging cost of fuel and says it is trying to find more planes to service its lucrative European routes.

The airline said all of its scheduled flights – it does not fly to the Middle East – were still operating and were on average 90 per cent full. That is about 15 per cent higher than before the United States and Israel began bombing Iran, disrupting travel across the Persian Gulf.
