Qantas redirects seats from America to Europe to salve profit pain

Qantas will redirect larger aircraft from the US to meet soaring demand for flights to Europe while services through popular Persian Gulf hubs are restricted due to the Iran war, hoping the higher airfares on those routes will cushion a blow to earnings from a sharp spike in fuel costs.

Qantas said it would fly its larger Boeing 787 aircraft from Perth to Rome daily, up from three times a week, and fly from Sydney to Paris through Singapore – rather than through Perth – five times a week.
