Labor’s revamped federal bureaucracy has more junior and inexperienced staff than at any time on record, which former senior public servants say risks repeating public service stuff-ups such as Treasury’s recent breach of the Constitution.
The share of public servants with less than five years of experience is the highest in at least 23 years. One in 10 has just months of experience.
