Russian oil relief could prolong Iran conflict: Ukraine envoy

Ukraine’s ambassador to Australia has warned the West against easing sanctions on Russian crude to address a looming oil supply crunch, saying it would fuel Moscow’s drone production and help re-arm the Iranian regime.

The United States last week temporarily eased sanctions on countries buying Russian oil as the global economy grapples with a supply squeeze after Iran effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, a choke point carrying about 20 per cent of the world’s oil supply.
