Santos has suffered a stoppage at its new $6 billion Barossa gas project in the Timor Sea, cutting exports from its recently restarted Darwin LNG plant just as global gas markets face a severe squeeze because of the loss of exports from Qatar.
The “temporary shutdown” of Darwin LNG was required for the replacement of some equipment on the offshore production vessel used at Barossa, said a Santos spokeswoman, who could not say when production would resume.
