Swinburne vice-chancellor quits amid investigation into chancellor

Swinburne University vice-chancellor Pascale Quester has abruptly quit and will leave her post in July amid a leadership crisis engulfing the Melbourne-based institution.

Quester told staff in a meeting on Thursday afternoon she had decided to step down and her last day would be July 3. The decision comes months after The Australian Financial Review revealed deep staff unrest about the university’s chancellor, John Pollaers.
