Sydney’s popular Oaks Hotel in Neutral Bay has sold for about $140 million to Gallagher Hotels, one of Australia’s major family-run pub groups, equalling the second-highest price paid for an Australian pub.
The transaction resolves the future of the busy watering hole on Military Road, held for five decades by the Thomas family, which put it on the market four years ago with a price tag of $175 million.
