Tax revenue surge saves NSW budget after $2.9b wages blowout

The NSW budget position has improved because of a projected surge in stamp duty and GST revenue, and despite a further $2.9 billion blowout in employee expenses.

In its mid-year fiscal update, released on Friday, the NSW Treasury said it expected a $600 million improvement over four years relative to the budget in June.
