The best-paying public service jobs are among those with the largest pay gaps between men and women, but progress towards pay parity for government employees still remains well ahead of the private sector.
The latest Workplace Gender Equality Agency data released this week shows that the government’s green investment agency, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, and Australia’s sovereign wealth Future Fund, which manage about $30 billion and $330 billion in government investment, respectively, were the best-paying public sector jobs, with average pay across the workforce of around $290,000.
