Telstra and TPG Telecom, which owns the Vodafone and iiNet brands, are losing broadband customers to alternative providers with a better service and cheaper prices, according to research by JPMorgan analysts.
The Wall Street investment banking giant warned clients not to buy into TPG in particular, citing its declining share of the national broadband market – down to 18 per cent from 23 per cent over the past three years – along with tough competition for mobile phone plans.
