Trump announces strike against ISIS in Nigeria

Washington | The United States launched a number of strikes against the Islamic State group in north-western Nigeria, President Donald Trump announced on Thursday (Friday AEDT), the latest US military campaign against a non-state adversary – in this case, Islamic jihadis who the president asserts have been slaughtering Christians.

Trump made his announcement on Truth Social, and it came with scant details. He said only that “the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries!”
