United Petroleum co-founder lists his Mornington Peninsula pad

United Petroleum co-founder Avi Silver is selling his striking mansion in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula region with $6.95 million price hopes, months after he tested the market with his coastal home in Queensland.

The Melbourne billionaire – who established the service station business with Eddie Hirsch in 1981 – is offloading his six-bedroom, five-bathroom Merricks North pad, which he purchased for $4.87 million under a company name in 2020, property records reveal. Silver is estimated to be worth $2.25 billion according to the 2025 Financial Review Rich List.
