Here’s what we know so far:
- US forces destroyed military targets on Iran’s Kharg Island, a key oil export hub in the Persian Gulf through which nearly all of Iran’s oil exports pass. The Strait of Hormuz remains blocked.
- Iran’s parliament speaker reiterated a warning that attacks on the Persian Gulf islands on Iran’s southern maritime frontier would provoke a new level of retaliation, underscoring how central they are to the country’s economy and security.
- Fuel transport companies are backing a push for urban rationing to reserve supply for the regions amid calls for urgent roundtable negotiations.
- Lebanese health authorities say an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon killed 12 medical staff at a clinic, two Palestinians were killed early Saturday by Israeli fire in the Gaza Strip, and the IDF reported a “fall” in the north of Israel following warnings that Iran had launched missiles into the country.
- A missile struck the US Embassy in Baghdad, hitting a helipad, and five US Air Force refuelling planes were struck and damaged at Prince Sultan air base in Saudi Arabia by an Iranian missile strike.
