Victoria, WA, ACT lead national home-building race

A pick-up in home-building in Victoria, Western Australia and ACT has put them on track to meet their shares of the country’s 1.2-million new home target by September 2029, a year ahead of Queensland and nearly two years before NSW, a new federal government report shows.

Victoria, WA and ACT, which The Australian Financial Review last year flagged as the fastest builders, have completed 23 per cent, 22 per cent and 23 per cent respectively of their allocation, a new National Housing Supply and Affordability Council report shows.
