Woodside deal boosts LNG exports in exchange for domestic gas

Energy giant Woodside has struck a new deal with the West Australian Labor government to export nearly 3 million tonnes more LNG in exchange for selling more gas into the state’s domestic market.

The deal was secured last month via an amendment to a state agreement governing the use of infrastructure supporting Woodside’s Pluto gas project, with the company agreeing to supply 23 petajoules of additional gas into the domestic market by 2029.
