McEwan braces for BHP exits as Brandon Craig takes helm

BHP chairman Ross McEwan says he won’t be surprised if the mining giant loses some of its top talent after 53-year-old mining engineer Brandon Craig was appointed chief executive.

Craig’s experience in running mines and delivering big projects gave him an edge over BHP’s chief financial officer Vandita Pant, and he also eclipsed two female contenders in chief development officer Catherine Raw and Minerals Australia president Geraldine Slattery.
